  • Q1.   Am I supposed to know how to swim in Nemo Beach to Snorkel?

    No, one does not have to know how to swim or snorkel at the Nemo Beach. The snorkelling is done in shallow water on the shore side under professional guiding by the instructors which makes the whole process easier for anybody who does not know how to swim. 

  • Q2.   How long is the snorkel trip at Nemo Beach?

    It is 45 mins long. It has a safety talk and gear up and then a guide to the under water reef. 

  • Q3.   Is snorkeling in Nemo Beach safe for kids and the old people?

    Yes, it is safe for participants aged 12 and above. However, those above 50 years are advised to carry a medical fitness certificate from a doctor. Experts and safety gear make the trip safe for any one who snorkels. 

  • Q4.   What kind of Marine Life can be seen when snorkeling in Nemo Beach?

    A variety of marine animals can be seen, namely, clownfish, butterfly fish, angelfish, parrotfish, starfish, and other colorful coral gardens that are the part of the rich underwater life.

  • Q5.   What gear and safety kit is included in snorkeling?

    All snorkeling gear is included in the package, mask, snorkel, fins, and life jacket. Guides are there and you get a ratio of 1 guide to 2 guests to ensure safety.

  • Q6.   What are some of the supplies to be carried on a snorkeling trip in Nemo Beach?

    You can carry with you basic things like a swim suit, towel, sun screen and even water proof footwear.  It would also be a good idea to carry and an extra change of clothes and drinking water if needed.

    October to April are the most crucial seasons to snorkel in the Nemo Beach since the weather is conducive and visibility under the water is more favourable thus making it good sightseeing of the reefs.

    The snorkeling activity also comes with a photography and videography so that you will have a lots of nice pictures and videos from your snorkeling trip at the Nemo Beach.

    Absolutely. All of the snorkeling-related activity is done under the supervision of PADI safety standards as well as Andaman tourism’s eco regulations. People who are participating in the activity are expected not to disturb the corals in order to protect the delicate marine ecosystem.

    A snorkel mask normally prevents the use of glasses by anyone wearing glasses when he or she is snorkeling. But they can use prescribed contact lenses or maybe even ask for a prescription snorkel mask if available. 

  • Q12.   What time of the day is best for snorkeling at Nemo Beach?

    It is said that the best time for underwater activity is the morning hours because the water is calm and clear. The morning sunlight makes the reef and the fish look brighter. The afternoon trips are also great too, but the visibility may change on the basis of the tides and weather conditions. 

  • Q13.   Does Nemo Beach have a snorkeling weight capacity?

    Nope, there is not any weight restriction, however, the visitors must simply be capable of wearing the life jacket comfortably and move about in the water with ease. The snorkeling instructors will keep on checking on you so that you snorkel safely without any discomfort. 

  • Q14.   Can I snorkel if I feel nervous or afraid of water?

    Feeling nervous or afraid under such circumstances is very normal. This practice occurs in very shallow sea water and you will always have a guide beside you so you do not feel as frightened as time goes on. You will also have a life jacket and a floating support on continuously to ensure that you are confident and safe in the water.

  • Q15.   Are there bathrooms and changing facilities at Nemo Beach?

    Yes, basic facilities such as changing rooms and washrooms are usually situated near the beach area. Arriving a bit earlier is preferable to have a bit more time to change and leave your stuff safe and ready to the snorkelling session

  • Q16.   What happens if it starts raining during my snorkel trip?

    A drizzle is usually not a problem when it comes to the snorkelling in the safe shallow water. But in case of bad weather or poor visibility, the instructors will postpone or even halt the session because of the safety of the participants. In case anything of that nature occurs, then the timings may be rescheduled to a more convenient time.

  • Q17.   How deep is the water at Nemo Beach for snorkeling?

    The snorkelling area of the Nemo beach is shallow and mostly around 3 meters. This makes it safe for beginners and non-swimmers. You will always be near your guide, and there is no necessity of going to the deep side of the water unless and until you feel at ease and are instructed to. 

  • Q18.   Can I bring my own snorkeling equipment?

    Yes, if you want to, you can bring your own mask, snorkel, or fins if you prefer using personal gear. However, the package already includes all the necessary equipment that is well-maintained. The instructors will check your gear beforehand just to be sure it fits properly and is safe to use. 

  • Q19.   Is there any training before entering the water?

    Yes, before the session, a short descriptive briefing is given to the participants is given to teach them how to use the mask, snorkel, and life jacket. The instructors will also help you with underwater skills and hand gestures to use when snorkeling. This complete training before teh session will make sure you feel comfortable and prepared before snorkeling. 

  • Q20.   Can we see any turtles or even dolphins while snorkeling?

    On the Nemo beach, dolphins and turtles cannot be easily seen, but some guests were able to see them on their trip. But, Nemo Beach is said to be the home of several other marine life, like coral reefs, sea cucumbers, starfish, etc. Turtles can be seen around the island, depending on the season and even water clarity.
