How to reach Rangat Island by Air?

  • The easiest way to reach the island of colors is via helicopter. Imagine flying over the sea, watching the waves crash, looking at the islands from bird’s view, well, helicopter view is going to be exactly like this. 
  • The ticket costs about Rs 3000/- approx. and you can reach in about or less than an hour. 
  • The prices change according to the demand of customers and season. 
  • If you want to enjoy the beach weather and sparkling clean water, make sure you visit Rangat between May to October. 
  • In case, you are a keen nature seeker, then visit during December and January, when thousands of turtles travel to the seashore for nesting period.

How to reach Rangat Island by road?

There are a few ways to reach the second largest town of Andamans by road, but at the same time is time-consuming none the less. 

  • Cabs and Taxis

One can hire a taxi from Port Blair and travel up to the Rangat Island. It would be one time-consuming process but none the less, traveling midst the dense forests, alongside the ocean, make up for the tedious journey. 

  • Government and private bus

Want the local feel with a cost-friendly budget? Then go on, catch a bus to Rangat from the bus terminus in Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair. It would take 10 hours to reach the unique and rare tourist location. 

  • It is suggested that you take the earliest one of them all at 4:30 am. As it takes near to 10 hours to reach the island, it is better to arrive by the afternoon than in the evening. 
  • Government buses due to high demand are quite full and non-airconditioned, but private buses run along, and don’t worry, they provide an air-conditioned environment. 
  • Self-drive cars

What’s better to drive at your own pace, stopping and clicking pictures at every picturesque location, nothing right? Well, at many location and places, you can find self-drive car rental shops. 

Make sure to check all papers, licenses, and do click pictures of your car beforehand.

The cost of tickets to the government licensed ferry is Rs 300/- and has to be bought at Port Blair only. 

  • You can catch the ferry from Marine jetty, Port Blair, and you would reach Rangat Island in about four hours. 
  • Motorboat- If you are in a group, or love privacy, then hire a motorboat. Traveling and jumping along the waves, you would reach the island in less than four hours.
